Die AMD Radeon RX Vega 9 ist eine integrierte Grafikkarte für Notebooks. Sie befindet sich in den Ryzen 5 APUs (z.B. Ryzen 5 3580U Microsoft Surface Edition), welche gegen Ende 2019 vorgestellt wurden. Die GPU basiert auf die Vega Architektur (5. Generation GCN) und bietet 9 der 11 CUs (= 576 der 704 Shader) mit bis zu 1300 MHz (im Ryzen 5 3580U). Die Leistung ist abhängig vom konfigurierten TDP (12-25 Watt zum Launch), der Taktung im Modell, der Kühlung und vom verbauten Hauptspeicher. Von schnellem Dual-Channel DDR4-2400 Speicher dürfte die Grafikkarte deutlich profitieren (im Gegensatz zu auch möglichen DDR4-2133 Single-Channel).

Die Vega Architektur bietet einige Verbesserungen zur Polaris Generation und unterstützt nun z.B. DirectX 12 Feature Level 12_1. Mehr Informationen dazu finden Sie in unserem Raven Ridge Architekturartikel.

Die Leistung dürfte sich theoretisch auf dem Niveau der GeForce 940MX befinden. Durch den fehlenden eigenen Grafikspeicher, ist die Performance jedoch pro Spiel und Setting unterschiedlich. Generell eignet sie sich aber eher für anspruchslose Spiele wie League of Legends oder Counter Strike: Go. Im Vergleich zur Vega 8 und Vega 10, sollte sich die Vega 9 klarerweise zwischen beiden einordnen.

Der Stromverbrauch ist dank 14nm Prozess und ausgeklügelten Stromsparmechanismen relativ gering (laut AMD) und daher eignet sich die Grafikkarte auch für dünne und leichte Notebooks.

NVIDIA GeForce MX230

Die NVIDIA GeForce MX230 ist eine dedizierte DirectX-12-Grafikkarte (FL 12_1) der Einstiegsklasse. Sie basiert auf den GP108 Pascal Chip und nicht mehr den GM108 (Maxwell) der GeForce MX130. Die schnellere GeForce MX250 basiert auf den selben Chip und beide nutzen GDDR5 Grafikspeicher mit bis zu 3,5 GHz. Die MX230 nutzt im Gegensatz zur MX250 nicht alle 384 Shader der GPU, sondern nur 256 (16 TUs, 16 ROPs).

Features

Der GP108-Chip wird in einem 14-nm-FinFET-Prozess (LPP) bei Samsung gefertigt und bietet eine Reihe neuer Features, unter anderem Support für DisplayPort 1.4 (ready), HDMI 2.0b und HDR. G-Sync und Simultane Multi-Projection (für VR) werden im Unterschied zu den größeren Pascal Chips jedoch nicht unterstützt. H.265 Video De- und Encoding wird vom Chip unterstützt, jedoch benötigt z.b. 4K-HDR bei Netflix zumindest 3 GB Videospeicher. Leistung

Durch die modernerer Architektur (Pascal versus Maxwell) und den höheren Kerntakt ist die MX230 etwas schneller als die alte GeForce MX130. Aktuelle anspruchsvolle Spiele aus 2019 laufen jedoch teilweise nur ruckelig mit minimalen Einstellungen (z.B. Anno 1800 oder Rage 2). Weniger anspruchsvolle Spiele wie Fifa 19 oder Rocket League sind auch in höheren Detailstufen flüssig spielbar (siehe unten für Spieletests).

Stromverbrauch

Der GP108 Chip wird in 14nm bei Samsung gefertigt und eignet sich auch für dünne und schlanke Notebooks. Die durchschnittliche MX250 brauchte in unseren Tests 22% mehr Strom (Furmark) und die alte MX130 sogar 38%. Eine integrierte UHD Graphics 620 ist nur um 17% stromsparender bei deutlich geringerer Leistung.

AMD Radeon RX Vega 6 (Ryzen 2000/3000)

Die AMD Radeon RX Vega 6 ist eine integrierte Grafikkarte für Notebooks. Sie befindet sich in der Ryzen 3 2300U APU, welche gegen Ende 2017 vorgestellt wurden. Die iGPU basiert auf die Vega Architektur (5. Generation GCN) und bietet 6 der 11 CUs (= 384 der 704 Shader) mit bis zu 1100 MHz Taktrate. Die Leistung ist abhängig vom konfigurierten TDP (12-25 Watt zum Launch), der Taktung im Modell, der Kühlung und vom verbauten Hauptspeicher.
