Der Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 war zur Zeit des Erscheinens ein Mittelklasse Doppelkernprozessor für Notebooks. Er basiert auf den älteren Merom Kern (später von dem schnelleren Penryn Kern abgelöst) und bietet die nur den halbierten Level 2 Cache mit 2 MB. Wie der T7200 bietet der T7100 Virtualization VT-x Funktionen, jedoch ist der T7200 aufgrund des 4 MB Cache und der höhere Taktfrequenz etwas schneller.

Der Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 ist ein Einstiegs-Doppelkernprozessor für Notebooks. Er basiert auf den Merom-2M Kern und wird daher noch in 65nm gefertigt. Die Virtualisierungsfunktionen des Merom Kerns sind jedoch beim T5500 deaktiviert. Durch die geringe Taktrate, den relativ kleinen Cache und den langsamen FSB ist die Performance des T5500 limitiert und war auch in 2008 nur in der Einsteigerklasse anzusiedeln. Im Vergleich zu Pentium und Celeron Modellen, sollte der Core 2 Duo jedoch mehr Stromsparmechanismen bieten.
