Das Apple S8 SiP (System in a Package) besitzt die gleiche Modellnummer (t8301) wie seine Vorgänger Apple S6 und Apple S7 und arbeitet mit einem 64-Bit-Prozessor, dessen beiden Kerne jeweils mit bis zu 1.800 MHz arbeiten. Gemäß den Angaben von Apple ist das SiP bis zu 20 Prozent schneller als der Apple S5, was exakt der Zuwachsbezifferung vom S6 entspricht.

Das SiP des S8 kommt in den Smartwatches der Serie 8 und der 2. Generation der SE zum Einsatz und kann auf 1 GB Arbeits- sowie 32 GB internen Speicher zurückgreifen. Mit an Bord ist der Apple Wireless Chip W3, welcher Dual-Band-WLAN (IEEE-802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 5.0 sowie optionales 3G/LTE unterstützt. Für die Satellitenortung werden die GNSS-Netzwerke GPS, Glonass, Galileo, BeiDou und QZSS herangezogen. Ebenso ist der Ultrabreitband-Chip Apple U1 integriert. Der S8 hat aber ein neues 3-Achsen-Gyroskop und einen High-G-Force-Messer verbaut.

Der AMD Ryzen 5 5600X ist ein Desktop-Prozessor mit 6-Kernen und Hyperthreading (SMT). Somit kann der Prozessor insgesamt 12 Threads gleichzeitig verarbeiten. Mit dem Launch im November 2020 ist er der schnellste Ryzen Desktop-Prozessor mit 6 Kernen. Mit einer TDP von 65 Watt ist der Ryzen 5 5600X bislang das sparsamste Modell der neuen Zen-3-Familie. 

Der Ryzen 5 5600X taktet mit 3,7 GHz Basistakt und kann per Precision-Boost 2 auf bis zu 4,6 GHz takten.
