Der GA106 arbeitet jedoch nur mit 3.328 aktiven Shadereinheiten, sowie 26 RT-Kernen und 104 Tensor-Einheiten. Der VRAM umfasst 12-GB-GDDR6 und kommuniziert über ein 192-bit-Speicherinterface. Daraus ergibt sich eine Speicherbandbreite von 288 GB/s.

Die professionellen Grafikkarten von Nvidia bieten zertifizierte Treiber, welche auf Stabiltität und Performance bei professionellen Anwendungen (CAD-, DCC-, Medizin-, Prospektions-, Visualisierungsanwendungen) optimiert sind. Daraus ergeben sich viele Vorteile gegenüber den Consumer-Grafikkarten.

Die Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti ist eine High-End-Desktop-Grafikkarte basierend auf die Ada Lovelace Architektur. Sie nutzt den AD104 Chip und bietet 7,680 Kerne und 12 GB GDDR6X Grafikspeicher (192 Bit Bus mit 21 Gbits).

Die Gaming-Performance reicht auch bei anspruchsvollen Spielen wie bei Cyberpunk noch für 4k mit ultra Settings, jedoch werden die 60 fps nicht mehr immer erreicht. Mit Raytracing empfiehlt sich der Einsatz von DLSS und eventuell das reduzieren der Auflösung. Im Konkurrenzvergleich ist die Performance vergleichbar mit der alten GeForce RTX 3090 bzw. 3090 Ti.

Der AD104 Chip wird bei TSMC in 5nm (4N mit EUV) produziert und ist mit einem TGP (Total Graphics Power) von 285 Watt spezifiziert.

NVIDIA RTX A5500 Laptop GPU

Die Nvidia RTX A5500 Laptop GPU oder A5500 Mobile (für Laptops) ist eine professionelle Grafikkarte für mobile Workstations. Sie basiert auf die Consumer GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU und bietet ebenfalls 7.424 Grafik-Kerne, 58 RT-Kerne, 232 Tensor-Kerne und 16 GB GDDR6 Grafikspeicher. Im Vergleich zu einer günstigeren GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU mit Studio Treibern, bietet die RTX A5500 zertifizierte Treiber für zahlreiche professionelle Applikationen.

Wie auch die GeForce RTX 3080, ist auch die RTX A5500 in verschiedenen TGP-Versionen von 80 - 165 Watt erhältlich (maximaler Stromverbrauch). Je nach verbauter Variante unterscheiden sich die Taktraten von Chip und Speicher und damit auch deutlich die Performance.

Es gibt nun keine Max-Q Variante mehr (die 80 - 90 Watt Versionen heissen auch nur "Laptop GPU"), aber jede TGP-Version kann die Max-Q Technologien nutzen (Dynamic Boost, WhisperMode).

Die professionellen Grafikkarten von Nvidia bieten zertifizierte Treiber, welche auf Stabiltität und Performance bei professionellen Anwendungen (CAD-, DCC-, Medizin-, Prospektions-, Visualisierungsanwendungen) optimiert sind.

Die Leistung ist abhängig von der TGP-Variante und der verwendeten Kühlung.

Der GA103S Chip bietet 7.680 FP32 ALUs wovon die Hälfte auch INT32 Befehle ausführen können (also 3072 INT32 ALUs). Bei Turing konnten noch alle Shader FP32 oder INT32 ausführen. Die Raytracing und Tensor Kerne auf dem Chip wurden laut Nvidia ebenfalls verbessert. Weiters integriert der Ampere Chip einen Hardware Video-Encoder (NVENC 5. Generation für H.264 und H.265) und Decoder (7. Generation für zahlreiche Formate inklusive AV1).

Der GA103 Chip wird bei Samsung im 8nm (8N) Verfahren welches mit dem 7nm Verfahren von TSMC nicht ganz mithalten kann (z.B. von AMD genutzt, aber auch für den professionellen GA100 Ampere Chip).
