Im Unterschied zum Consumer Ryzen 9 7940HS , bietet das PRO-Modell zusätzliche Management- und Sicherheitsfeatures für Unternehmen.
Die Performance des Topmodells der Phoenix-Serie sollte bei 54W TDP vergleichbar mit dem AMD Ryzen 7 7745HX (ebenfalls 8 Zen 4 Kerne, max 5,1 GHz, 55W, 32 MB L3) und damit deutlich vor dem alten Spitzenmodell AMD Ryzen 9 6980HX bzw. 6980HS (mit geringerem TDP).
Der Chip integriert eine moderne RDNA 3 basierende Grafikkarte (iGPU) namens Radeon 780M mit 12 CUs und bis zu 2.8 GHz inklusive AV1 Video-Engine. Erstmals ist auch eine Xilinx FPGA basierte XDNA AI Beschleuniger integriert. Dieser soll schneller sein als die AI-Engine im Apple M2 SoC . An Anschlüssen bietet Phoenix 2x USB 4 (40 Gbps), 20 PCIe 4.0 Lanes und einen Dual-Channel DDR5-5600 / LPDDR5x-7500 Speicherkontroller (mit ECC Support).
Die Phoenix Serie ist ein einzelner Chip (im Unterschied zur Dragon Range 7045HX Serie) und wird bei TSMC im modernen 4nm FinFET Prozess gefertigt.
Apple M1 Max ► remove from comparison
Der Apple M1 Max ist ein System on a Chip (SoC) von Apple, der in den High-End-Varianten des Apple MacBook Pro 14 und 16 aus 2021 verbaut wird. Der Chip integriert wie der M1 Pro 10 CPU Kerne von denen zwei Stromspar-Kerne sind (E-Cores) und 8 Performance-Kerne (P-Cores). Die Taktung der Performance-Kerne rangiert von 600 bis 3220 MHz, die Effizienz-Kerne können von 600 bis 2064 MHz takten. Einen kurzen Turbo Boost oder höhere Taktraten für einzelne Kerne gibt es nicht. Neben den 28 MB L2 Cache, kann die CPU und die GPU auf 48 MB System Level Cache zurückgreifen.
Der Chip wird mit 32 oder 64 GB LPDDR5-6400 Unified Memory ausgeliefert auf die CPU und GPU gleichzeitig zugreifen können und die mit einem schnellen 512 Bit Speicherbus (max. 400 GB/s) angebunden werden. Hier unterscheidet sich der M1 Max auch vom M1 Pro.
Die integrierte Grafikkarte bietet 32 GPU-Kerne (die kleine Version aktiviert nur 24 Kerne).
Weiters bietet der Chip eine 16-Kern-Neural-Engine für AI-Beschleunigung, die Secure Enclave, Unified Memory Architecture, ISP und Media De- und Encoder. Der M1 Max bietet im Vergleich zum M1 Pro zwei weitere ProRes Beschleuniger im Chip.
Der TDP des Chips wird nicht angegeben, die Package Power kann aber bis zu 86W betragen (CPU und GPU gemeinsam). Der Prozessor-Teil alleine kann sich ca 29 Watt genehmigen und damit 7,5 Watt mehr als beim M1 Pro mit weniger RAM.
Der Chip wird im modernen 5nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und soll sehr energieffizient sein.

Dadurch sollte die Performance bei 54W TDP auch vergleichbar mit dem AMD Ryzen 7 7745HX (ebenfalls 8 Zen 4 Kerne, max 5,1 GHz, 55W, 32 MB L3) und damit deutlich vor dem alten Spitzenmodell AMD Ryzen 9 6980HX bzw. 6980HS (mit geringerem TDP).
