Die Leistung ist identisch zum älteren Ryzen 7 5825U und damit hinter dem Ryzen 7 6800U mit bis zu 4,7 GHz und deutlich schnellerer iGPU.
Der SoC integriert neben den acht Prozessorkernen noch eine Radeon RX Vega 8 Grafikkarte mit 8 CUs und bis zu 2000 MHz Takt (bzw. 1900 MHz im Geekbench Leak), einen Dual-Channel DDR4 Speicherkontroller (DDR4-3200, LPDDR4-4266) und 16 MB Level 3 Cache.
Der TDP ist mit 15 Watt spezifiziert, wodurch sich die APU auch für leichte Notebooks eignet.

Der SoC beinhaltet acht Zen 3+ Kerne (Octa-Core CPU) welche mit 3,2 GHz (garantierter Basistakt) bis zu 4,7 GHz getaktet werden (Turbo) und SMT / Hyperthreading (16 Threads) unterstützen. Der Chip wird im modernen 6nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und wurde im April 2022 vorgestellt. Im Vergleich zum Consumer Ryzen 7 6800U , bietet der 6850U zusätzliche Management und Security Features wie den Microsoft Pluton Security Prozessor.
Die neuen Rembrandt APUs bieten einige Neuerungen, wie Support für USB4 mit 40 Gbps, PCI-E Gen 4, DDR5-4800MT/s bzw LPDDR5-6400MT/s, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth LE 5.2, DisplayPort 2 und AV1 Decode in Hardware.
Die CPU Leistung ist abhängig vom spezifizierten TDP (15-25 Watt) und der Kühlung, sollte aber durch die höhere Taktung deutlich oberhalb des alten Ryzen 7 5800U (1,9 - 4,4 GHz) liegen.
Eine besondere Neuheit ist die aktualisierte Grafikkarte namens Radeon 680M , die nun endlich auf die aktuelle RDNA2-Architektur basiert und im 6850U 12 CUs mit bis zu 2,2 GHz Takt bietet.
Der TDP ist mit 15 - 25 Watt spezifiziert und dadurch ist die APU auch für kleine und leichte Notebooks geeignet.
