Der SoC beinhaltet sechs Zen 2 Kerne (Octa-Core CPU) (ohne SMT/Hyperthreading = 6 Threads) welche mit bis zu 4 GHz getaktet werden (Turbo). Der Chip wird im modernen 7nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und soll laut AMD eine 2x verbesserte Performance pro Watt bieten als die Ryzen 3000 APUs (z.B. den Ryzen 5 3500U Vorgänger).
Im Vergleich zum minimal schnelleren Ryzen 5 4600U, bietet der 4500U kein SMT / Hyperthreading aber einen höheren Basistakt. Dadurch sollte die Prozessor-Performance sehr ähnlich ausfallen.
Der SoC integriert neben den sechs Prozessorkernen noch eine Radeon RX Vega 6 Grafikkarte mit 6 CUs und bis zu 1500 MHz Takt, einen Dual-Channel DDR4-3200 / LPDDR4-4266 Speicherkontroller und 8 MB Level 3 Cache. Der SoC beinhaltet vier Zen 2 Kerne (Quad-Core CPU) welche mit bis zu 3,8 GHz getaktet werden (Turbo) und SMT / Hyperthreading (8 Threads) unterstützen. Der Chip wird im modernen 7nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und soll Anfang 2021 vorgestellt werden. Im Vergleich zum schnelleren Ryzen 3 5400U basiert der 5300U nicht auf die neue und schnellere Zen 3 Architektur und bietet daher auch weniger L3 Cache.
