Der AMD Ryzen Embedded R1606G ist ein Mobilprozessor für stromsparende embedded Systeme. Er basiert auf den AMD Ryzen 3 3200U Notebookprozessor (bzw. Ryzen 3 2200U) und basiert noch auf die erste Zen Generation. Der SoC beinhaltet 2 Zen Kerne (Quad-Core CPU) mit SMT / Hyperthreading und dadurch können 4 Threads gleichzeitig abgearbeitet werden.

Die integrierte Radeon RX Vega 3 bietet 3 CUs (192 Shader) mit bis zu 1200 MHz.

Intel Core i5-7Y57

Der Intel Core i5-7Y57 ist ein extrem sparsamer Dual-Core-SoC für Tablets und passiv gekühlte Notebooks, der auf der Kaby-Lake-Architektur basiert und im ersten Quartal 2017 vorgestellt wurde. Es handelt sich dabei um eine etwas schnellere Version des Core i5-7Y54 (1,2 bis 3,2 GHz). Die CPU integriert 2 Prozessorkerne, die mit 1,2 bis 3,3 GHz takten (2-Kern-Turbo 2,9 GHz). Dank Hyper-Threading kann der Prozessor vier Threads gleichzeitig bearbeiten. Weiterhin integriert der Chip eine Intel HD Graphics 615 Grafikkarte, einen Dual-Channel-Speichercontroller (DDR3L/LPDDR3) sowie VP9- und H.265-Videode- und -encoder. Die Fertigung erfolgt weiterhin in einem 14-Nanometer-Prozess mit FinFET-Transistoren.

Architektur

Im Vergleich mit Skylake hat Intel die zugrundeliegende Mikroarchitektur praktisch unverändert übernommen, sodass sich keine Unterschiede in der Pro-MHz-Leistung ergeben. Überarbeitet wurde lediglich die Speed-Shift-Technik zur schnelleren dynamischen Anpassung von Spannungen und Taktraten, zudem gestattet der gereifte 14-Nanometer-Prozess deutlich höhere Frequenzen und eine bessere Energieeffizienz als bislang.

Performance

Trotz anderslautender Serienbezeichnung handelt es sich beim Core i5-7Y57 um den Nachfolger des Core m5-6Y57 (Skylake Y-Serie), sodass der Chip aufgrund seiner sehr niedrigen TDP nicht das Leistungsniveau anderer Core-i-Prozessoren erreicht. Zwar kann der 7Y57 durch seinen hohen Turbo-Takt bei kurzzeitigen Lastspitzen und Single-Thread-Anwendungen gelegentlich mit Modellen der 15-Watt-Serie mithalten, wird bei Dauerbelastung jedoch merkliche Takt- und Leistungseinbrüche zeigen. Dennoch ist die CPU für viele anspruchsvollere Anwendungen sowie Multitasking geeignet.

Grafikeinheit

Die integrierte Intel HD Graphics 615 Grafikkarte verfügt wie die alte HD Graphics 515 über 24 Ausführungseinheiten (EUs) und taktet in diesem Fall mit 300 bis 950 MHz. Die Performance hängt stark von der eingestellten TDP sowie dem verwendeten Arbeitsspeicher ab; mit schnellem LPDDR3-1866 im Dual-Channel-Betrieb und angehobener Leistungsaufnahme dürfte die GPU gelegentlich an die Leistung der HD Graphics 520 herankommen, kann in anderen Fällen aber auch deutlich langsamer sein. Aktuelle Spiele des Jahres 2016 werden, wenn überhaupt, nur in niedrigsten Einstellungen flüssig dargestellt.

Anders als Skylake kann Kaby Lake nun auch H.265/HEVC im Main10-Profil mit 10 Bit Farbtiefe sowie Googles VP9-Codec in Hardware decodieren.

Leistungsaufnahme

Die Fertigung erfolgt in einem weiter verbesserten 14-Nanometer-Prozess mit FinFET-Transistoren, wodurch die Energieeffizienz nochmals spürbar gestiegen ist. Die TDP wird, typisch für die Y-Serie, standardmäßig mit 4,5 Watt spezifiziert und kann je nach Einsatzzweck nach oben oder unten variiert werden.

Intel Core i3-7167U

Der Intel Core i3-7167U ist ein Dual-Core-SoC für Laptops, der auf der Kaby-Lake-Architektur basiert und Anfang Jänner 2017 vorgestellt wurde. Die CPU integriert 2 Prozessorkerne, die mit 2,8 GHz takten (kein Turbo Boost). Dank Hyper-Threading kann der Prozessor vier Threads gleichzeitig bearbeiten. Weiterhin integriert der i3-7167U eine Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650 Grafikkarte mit 64 MB eDRAM, einen Dual-Channel-Speichercontroller (DDR4) sowie VP9- und H.265-Videode- und -encoder. Die Fertigung erfolgt weiterhin in einem 14-Nanometer-Prozess mit FinFET-Transistoren.

Im Vergleich zu den schnelleren Core i5 und i7 Modellen mit eDRAM und 28 Watt, bietet der i3-7167U keinen Turbo, nur 3 MB Level 3 Cache und die langsamste Taktung der Iris Plus GPU.

Architektur

Performance

Durch den fehlenden Turbo positioniert sich der Core i3-7167U etwas oberhalb des Core i5-6200U (max 2,8 GHz, 15 Watt, kein eDRAM). Dadurch eignet sich die CPU für die meisten Anwendungsszenarien. Manche Spiele verlangen jedoch eventuell einen echten Vierkerner und könnten dadurch auf dem Doppelkernprozessor trotz HyperThreading nicht optimal laufen.

Grafikeinheit

Die integrierte Intel Iris Plus 650 Grafikkarte repräsentiert die "GT3e"-Ausbaustufe der Kaby-Lake-GPU (Intel Gen. 9.5). Die 48 Ausführungseinheiten (EUs) takten mit 300 bis 1.000 MHz (langsamste Taktung der 650, schnellste ist 1100 MHz z.B. im i7-7567U) und erlauben in Verbindung mit dem schnellen eDRAM-Cache eine Performance auf dem Niveau einer GeForce 920MX. Im Vergleich zur alten Iris Pro 550 gibt es jedoch keine deutlichen Verbesserungen. Aktuelle Spiele können dadurch oft gar nicht flüssig dargestellt werden oder nur in minimalen bzw mittleren Detailstufe.

Anders als Skylake kann Kaby Lake nun auch H.265/HEVC im Main10-Profil mit 10 Bit Farbtiefe sowie Googles VP9-Codec in Hardware decodieren. Die Anfang Jänner eingeführten Dual-Core-Kaby-Lake-Prozessoren sollten außerdem schon HDCP 2.2 beherrschen.

Die Fertigung erfolgt in einem weiter verbesserten 14-Nanometer-Prozess mit FinFET-Transistoren, wodurch die Energieeffizienz nochmals spürbar gestiegen ist. Die TDP wird mit 28 Watt spezifiziert und kann je nach Einsatzzweck 23 (cTDP Down) variiert werden. Verglichen mit den üblichen 15 Watt TDP für Dual-Core Prozessoren, ist der TDP relativ hoch, erlaubt jedoch die bessere Turbo Ausnutzung von GPU und CPU.
