Sie basiert wie die Consumer GeForce RTX 2080 auf den TU104 Chip, bietet jedoch mit 3072 Shader 128 mehr als diese. Im Vergleich zur Desktop RTX 5000, wird die mobile deutlich geringer getaktet. Weiters gibt es verschiedene Versionen mit unterschiedlichen Taktraten und TDPs. Neben den deutlich niedriger getakteten Max-Q Varianten, ist die normale Max-P in 110 W (1035 - 1545 MHz) und 150 W (1350 - 1770 MHz) verfügbar.

Dadurch ist die Performance im Vergleich zu den Consumergrafikkarten mit gleichem Chip in diesen Bereichen deutlich besser.
Features
Der TU104-Chip wird in 12nm gefertigt und bietet eine Reihe neuer Features, wie DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) und Real Time Ray Tracing. Dadurch lassen sich vor allem Beleuchtungseffekte sehr viel realistischer darstellen. Weiterhin gibt es Support für DisplayPort 1.4 (ready), HDMI 2.0b, HDR, Simultaneous Multi-Projection (SMP) sowie H.265 Video De- und Encoding (PlayReady 3.0).
Performance
Je nach Anwendung sollte die Performance der Quadro RTX 5000 knapp oberhalb einer GeForce RTX 2080 liegen. Durch den größeren VRAM und die optimierten Treiber, gibt es bei professionellen Applikationen auch teilweise größere Geschwindigkeitsvorteile. Dadurch sollte die RTX 5000 aktuell die schnellste Notebookgrafikkarte sein (Mitte 2019).
Durch den hohen Stromverbrauch, eignet sich die Quadro RTX5000 nur für große und schwere Notebooks. Die langsamere Max-Q Version ist für dünnere Notebooks gedacht.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 SLI (Laptop)
► remove from comparison Die Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 SLI (Laptop) bezeichnet einen SLI-Verbund aus zwei High-End GeForce GTX 1080 Grafikkarten. Die GPUs nutzen denselben GP104-Chip mit 2.560 CUDA-Kernen wie das Desktop-Modell. Beide Karten rendern jeweils abwechselnd ein Bild (AFR), wodurch sich die Leistung gegenüber einer einzelnen GPU im Optimalfall fast verdoppelt. Der je 8 GB große Grafikspeicher verdoppelt sich durch den Einsatz beider Karten nicht, da jeweils die selben Daten gespeichert werden.
Der GP104-Chip wird in einem 16nm-FinFET-Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und bietet eine Reihe neuer Features, unter anderem Support für DisplayPort 1.4 (ready), HDMI 2.0b, HDR, Simultaneous Multi-Projection (SMP) sowie verbessertes H.265 Video De- und Encoding (PlayReady 3.0). Die Performance der GTX 1080 SLI ist stark abhängig vom Treibersupport und den Spielen. Im Optimalfall wird die Performance einer einzelnen GTX 1080, wie schon bei den Vorgängern, fast verdoppelt, in anderen Fällen kann der Verbund auch deutlich schlechter oder gar nicht skalieren. Des Weiteren können mehr oder weniger ausgeprägte Mikroruckler die gefühlte Performance beeinträchtigen. Dennoch lassen sich die meisten Spiele des Jahres 2016 in maximalen Einstellungen und 4K-Auflösung flüssig darstellen, was die GTX 1080 SLI zum Zeitpunkt der Vorstellung zur schnellsten Notebook-Grafiklösung auf dem Markt macht.
Im SLI-Verbund verdoppelt sich der Stromverbrauch gegenüber einer einzelnen GTX 1080, sodass beide Karten zusammen wie das Vorgängermodell GTX 980 SLI (Notebook) bis zu 360 Watt aufnehmen können. Aus diesem Grund ist die Grafiklösung nur in sehr großen und schweren Gaming-Notebooks zu finden.
NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000 Max-Q

Die Max-Q Variante ist eine auf Effizienz optimierte Version der RTX 3000 mit verringerten Taktraten. Sie basiert auf den selben Chip wie die Consumer GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q jedoch mit zertifizierten Treibern für professionelle Anwendungen, weniger Shader und geringeren Taktraten und langsameren, aber größerem Grafikspeicher. Nach aktuellen Informationen gibt es drei verschiedene Max-Q Varianten mit einem Stromverbrauch der Karte (TGP) von 70, 65 und 60 Watt im Vergleich zu den 80 Watt der normalen mobilen RTX 3000.

Performance
Je nach Variante, kann die Max-Q Version deutlich Performance zur normalen RTX 4000 einbüßen. Zwar ist der maximale Boost-Takt bei der schnellsten Variante vergleichbar, der garantierte Basistakt liegt jedoch deutlich darunter. Dadurch ist die Performance stark von der Kühlung abhängig.
Im Vergleich zu Consumer-Karten, wie der höher gektateten RTX 2070 Max-Q verhelfen die Quadro Treiber der RTX 3000 Max-q jedoch zu einer höheren Performance.
Mit einem TDP von 60-70 Watt benötigt die Quadro RTX 3000 Max-Q zwar deutlich weniger als die stärkeren RTX 4000 und 5000 GPUs, jedoch eignet sie sich trotzdem nur für große Workstation Laptops.
