Die Nvidia Quadro P4000 ist eine mobile High-End-Workstation-Grafikkarte für Notebooks. Sie basiert derzeit auf keiner Consumer Karte direkt und positioniert sich zwischen Quadro P3000 (GTX 1060) und Quadro P5000 (GTX 1070) ein. Sie bietet 1792 Shader und dürfte daher auf den selben GP104 Chip der P5000 (2048 Shader) basieren. Sie bietet 8 GB GDDR5 bei gleicher Bandbreite und ist ebenfalls mit 100 Watt TGP (73.4 W TDP) von Nvidia spezifiziert.

Die Quadro-Grafikkarten bieten zertifizierte Treiber, welche auf Stabiltität und Performance bei professionellen Anwendungen (CAD-, DCC-, Medizin-, Prospektions-, Visualisierungsanwendungen) optimiert sind. Dadurch ist die Performance im Vergleich zu den Consumergrafikkarten mit gleichem Chip in diesen Bereichen deutlich besser.

Die Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 SLI für Notebooks (nicht zu verwechseln mit der langsameren GeForce GTX 980M SLI) ist eine High-End-Grafiklösung basierend auf zwei GTX-980-Karten im SLI-Modus. Beide Grafikkarten nutzen wie im Desktop den GM204-Chip mit vollen 2.048 CUDA-Kernen und identischen Taktraten (Basis und Boost). Die Chips selbst wurden selektiert für niedrige Stromverbräuche. 

Beide Grafikkarten rendern jeweils abwechselnd ein Bild (AFR), wodurch sich die Leistung gegenüber einer einzelnen GPU im Optimalfall fast verdoppelt. Allerdings kann es durch ungleichmäßige Abstände zwischen zwei Bildern zu spürbaren (Mikro-)Rucklern kommen, obwohl die fps-Raten in einem flüssigen Bereich liegen. Der Grafikspeicher verdoppelt sich durch den Einsatz beider Karten nicht, da bei beiden Grafikkarten die selben Daten gespeichert werden. Mit 8 GB pro Karte ist jedoch ausreichend GDDR5 verbaut.

Die Performance der GTX 980 SLI ist stark abhängig vom Treibersupport und den Spielen. In unseren Tests des MSI GT80S konnte sich der SLI-Verbund in Full HD bzw 4K eindeutig an die Spitze der Ende 2015 in Notebooks eingesetzten Grafiklösungen setzen. Die 980M SLI ist 17% langsamer und die einzelne 980 26%. Damit ist genug Leistung auch für 4K und hohe Details vorhanden. Leider gibt es mit SLI und Crossfire auch immer wieder Probleme (wie Microruckler und Abstürze, siehe GT80S Test).

Die Features der mobilen GTX 980 entsprechen dem Desktop-Counterpart. Daher unterstützt sie DirectX 12 (Feature Level 12_1) und noch nicht die neue H.265 Videoengine in der Desktop GTX 950.

Beim Stromverbrauch setzt die "GTX 980 für Notebooks" neue Rekorde in einem Notebook. Laut Nvidia bleibt der TDP der Referenzlösung bei 165 Watt wie bei der Desktop Grafikkarte. Im SLI-Verbund verdoppelt sich der Stromverbrauch.

 

NVIDIA Quadro P2000 Max-Q

Die Nvidia Quadro P2000 Max-Q (offiziell Quadro P2000 with Max-Q Design) ist eine mobile Mittelklasse-Workstation-Grafikkarte für Notebooks. Sie basiert auf wie die Consumer GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (Laptop) auf den GP107 Chip mit 768 Shader. Im Vergleich zur normalen Quadro P2000 ist die Leistung etwas geringer, jedoch bei deutlich verringertem Stromverbrauch. Die Grafikkarte ist für die Kaby-Lake-Generation gedacht. 

Die Quadro-Grafikkarten bieten zertifizierte Treiber, welche auf Stabiltität und Performance bei professionellen Anwendungen (CAD-, DCC-, Medizin-, Prospektions-, Visualisierungsanwendungen) optimiert sind. Dadurch ist die Performance im Vergleich zu den Consumergrafikkarten mit gleichem Chip in diesen Bereichen deutlich besser.
