Die NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU (Codename GN21-X4) ist eine High-End-Notebookgrafikkarte die Anfang 2023 vorgestellt wurde. Sie basiert auf den AD107 Chip (Ada Lovelace Architektur) und bietet wahrscheinlich 3.072 Shader und einen 128 Bit Speicherbus mit 8 GB GDDR6 Grafikspeicher und einer Taktung von effektiv 16 Gbps. Der TGP (Stromverbrauch kann von 35 bis 115 Watt rangieren plus zusätzlich etwa 15-25 Watt Dynamic Boost (von der CPU). Je nach TDP rangiert die maximale Taktrate von 1470 MHz (35 Watt) bis 2370 MHz (115 Watt).
In synthetischen Benchmarks kann sich die durchschnittliche RTX 4060 Laptop GPU zwischen einer RTX 3070 Laptop GPU und 3070 Ti Laptop GPU einordnen. Die Performance kann aber gerade bei geringen TDP-Varianten (z.B. mit nur 45 Watt) deutlich abweichen. In Spielen reicht die Performance meist für maximale Grafiksettings bei 1920x1080 für Frameraten > 60 fps (siehe unten). Weniger anspruchsvolle Spiele wie Baldurs Gate 3 sind auch in QHD flüssig spielbar (bei ausreichendem Power Limit der GPU).
Durch die 80 Tensor-Kerne unterstützt die RTX4060 auch DLSS3 inklusive Frame Generation. Die 20 Raytracing-Kerne werden jedoch nur selten genutzt werden, da die Leistung der RTX 4060 für maximale Details und Raytracing kaum ausreicht bei modernen Spielen.
Der AD107 Chip wird im 5nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt (4N).
Intel Arc A580 ► remove from comparison
Die Intel Arc A580 ist eine günstige Mid-Range-Desktop-GPU und wird im 6 nm Verfahren bei TSMC gefertigt. Beim Grafikprozessor bekommt die Intel Arc A580 ebenfalls den DG2-512-Grafikchip verpasst, welcher jedoch nur noch über 3.072 Shadereinheiten verfügt. Beim VRAM vertraut man auf 8 GB GDDR6 mit einem 256-Bit-Interface (16 Gbps, 512 GB/s). Damit ist die Intel Arc A580 das drittschnellste Grafikkartenmodell aus dem Hause Intel.
Auf Basis der Alchemist-Architektur kann die Intel Arc A580 auf die gleichen Features setzen, wie eine Intel Arc A750 oder eine Intel Arc A770. Im Preisbereich bis 200 Euro ist Intel mit der Arc A580 extem gut aufgestellt. AMD und auch Nvidia haben in diesem Preisbereich kaum passende Modelle im Portfolio. Features wie Ray Tracing werden ebenfalls unterstützt und auch Upscaling Techniken wie XeSS können mit DLSS und FSR konkurrieren. Letzteres lässt sich aufgrund des offenen Standards auch auf Intel-Grafikkarten verwenden. Mit der Unterstützung von AV1 ist die Grafikkarte auch für Content-Creator interessant. Das hardwareseitige Encodieren und Decodieren mit dem neuen Codec beherrschen aktuell nur die deutlich teureren Ada Lovelace Modelle von Nvidia und die RDNA3-GPUs von AMD.
Die Leistung der Intel Arc A580 ist mit einer AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT vergleichbar. Auch im interenen Duell kann die Intel Arc A580 relativ gut mit einer Intel Arc A750 mithalten. Neuere Spielen kommen den Intel Arc-Grafikkarten etwas entgegen. Gleichwohl lassen sich inzwischen sehr viele Spiele auf den Intel Grafikkarten gut spielen und durch die ständigen Treiberverbesserungen gut angepasst werden.
Die Leistungsaufnahme der Intel Arc A580 wird vom Hersteller mit 175 Watt (TGP) beziffert. In puncto Effizienz kann die Intel Arc A580 jedoch nicht überzeugen. Hier ist Intel gegenüber AMD und Nvidia im Nachteil. Ob sich dies mit dem Nachfolger aka "Battlemage" ändern wird, bleibt abzuwarten.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU ► remove from comparison
Die NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU (Codename GN21-X11) ist eine High-End-Notebookgrafikkarte die Anfang 2023 vorgestellt wurde. Sie basiert auf den selben AD103 Chip (Ada Lovelace Architektur) wie die Desktop RTX 4080 und bietet daher maximal 10.752 Shader (oder 9.728 wie die RTX 4080 Desktop) und einen 256 Bit Speicherbus mit 16 GB GDDR6 Grafikspeicher und einer Taktung von effektiv 20 Gbps. Der TGP (Stromverbrauch kann von 80 bis 150 Watt rangieren (im Vergleich zu den 320 Watt der Desktop RTX 4080) plus zusätzlich etwa 15 Watt Dynamic Boost (von der CPU). Die Leistung sollte dementsprechend unterhalb einer Desktop RTX 4080 liegen, aber die alte RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU deutlich schlagen.
Die Leistung ist stark abhängig vom verwendeten TGP und auch die maximale Taktung der GPU richtet sich danach und rangiert von 1455 MHz (80W) bis 2040 MHz (150W). In synthetischen Benchmarks setzt sich die RTX 4090 Mobile klar an die Spitze und hängt die RTX 4080M und alte 3080 Ti Laptop GPU deutlich ab. Notebooks mit geringerem Power Limit von 125 Watt können hier jedoch teilweise bis zu 20% an Leistung einbüßen.
In Spielen bedeutet dies, das eine schnelle RTX 4090 auch anspruchsvolle Spiele in 4k flüssig darstellen kann. Bei der Verwendung von Raytracing Effekten (z.b. F1 23) empfiehlt sich jedoch der Einsatz von DLSS oder eine direkte Reduktion der Auflösung (siehe Benchmarks unten).
Der AD103 Chip wird im 5nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt (4N) und beinhaltet 45.900 Millionen Transistoren bei einer Die-Größe von 379 mm2.
