Die Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 is zum Launch die schnellste GeForce Grafikkarte der Ampere-Generation und Quasi-Nachfolger der Titan RTX. Sie nutzt den großen GA102-Chip mit 10.496 Shader und 24 GB GDDR6X Grafikspeicher. Im Vergleich zur RTX 3080 ist die Mehrleistung erst ab Auflösungen höher 4K spürbar, für echtes 8K-Gaming mit hohen Details reicht die Rohleistung aber nicht aus. Mit einer Leistungsaufnahme von 350 Watt braucht die GPU zwar sehr viel Strom unter Last, die Energieeffizienz ist jedoch trotzdem sehr gut (Leistung pro Watt).

Die Qualcomm Adreno X1-45 1,7 TFLOPS-Version ist eine integrierte Grafikkarte, welche in zwei Snapdragon X Plus 8-Kern-SoCs ab September 2024 verbaut ist. Im Vergleich zu den 3,8 TFLOPS und den 4,6 TFLOPS X1-85 iGPUs läuft die kleine Version nicht nur mit niedrigeren Taktraten, sondern hat auch weniger Unified Shader zur Verfügung, wobei 768 die wahrscheinlichste Zahl ist.
Architektur
Die zugrundeliegende Architektur ist Berichten zufolge (Chips and Cheese ) in vielerlei Hinsicht die gleiche wie die der Adreno 730 , was die iGPU DirectX 12-kompatibel, aber nicht DirectX 12 Ultimate-kompatibel macht. Raytracing wird nur über Vulcan 1.3 unterstützt. Die höchste unterstützte OpenGL-Version ist ES 3.2. Die iGPU kann auf ausreichend schnellen Arbeitsspeicher zugreifen, hat aber vergleichsweise kleine und langsame Caches, mit denen sie arbeiten muss. AVC-, HEVC- und AV1-Videocodecs können sowohl hardware-decodiert als auch hardware-encodiert werden; bei VP9 ist nur die Decodierung möglich.
Die höchste unterstützte Bildschirmauflösung ist UHD 2160p und nicht SUHD 4320p.
Leistung
Genau wie bei AMD-, Intel- und Nvidia-Produkten hängt viel von den Leistungszielen eines bestimmten Systems ab. Das Modell mit 1,7 TFLOPS ist gleichauf mit der GeForce GTX 950M und deutlich hinter der Iris Xe Graphics G7 (80 EUs) in synthetischen Benchmarks. Bei Spielen liegt sie sehr nahe an der GeForce MX350, die viel besser ist; dennoch ist diese Art von Leistung nur für ältere Spiele und Sub-900p-Auflösungen gerade ausreichend.
Es ist auch erwähnenswert, dass Qualcomms Grafiktreiber nicht ganz so ausgefeilt sind wie die von AMD, Intel und vor allem Nvidia, was zu starken visuellen Artefakten in bestimmten Spielen führt. Viele Spiele laufen aktuell auch gar nicht.
Stromverbrauch
Snapdragon X Plus 8-Kern-Chips verbrauchen normalerweise nicht mehr als 30 W, einschließlich des integrierten RAMs. Daher ist es höchst unwahrscheinlich, dass die iGPU jemals mehr als 20 W verbrauchen wird.
Da der N4P-Prozess von TSMC verwendet wird, kann man davon ausgehen, dass die Energieeffizienz dieser iGPU ab Ende 2024 überdurchschnittlich gut sein wird. Sie liegt natürlich immer noch weit hinter Apples Chips der M-Serie zurück, wie unser ausführlicher Analyseartikel zeigt.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU ► remove from comparison
Die Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU oder 3060 Mobile (für Laptops, GN20-E3, Max-P / Max-Q) ist Anfang 2021 die dritt-schnellste mobile Ampere-Grafikkarte. Sie basiert auf den GA106 Ampere Chip und bietet 6 GB GDDR6 Grafikspeicher mit einem 192 Bit Grafikbus (mit 12 oder 14 Gbps). Sie unterstützt PCIe 4.0 und soll in zwei verschiedenen Varianten mit 60 bis 115 Watt (TGP) verfügbar sein. Als Package nutzt die Notebook-Grafikkarte GB5-256 und die Chipgröße soll 40x40mm betragen. Die GPU unterstützt eDP 1.4b zum Anschluss des internen Monitors.
Es gibt nun keine Max-Q Variante mehr (die 60 - 70 Watt Versionen heissen auch nur "Laptop GPU"), aber jede TGP-Version kann die Max-Q Technologien nutzen (Dynamic Boost, Whispermode).
Die Leistung ist abhängig von der TGP-Variante und der verwendeten Kühlung. Im Schnitt sollte sie etwa auf dem Level einer alten RTX 2070 Super Mobile liegen. Dadurch ist die Leistung bei anspruchsvollen Spielen am besten für QHD (2560x1440) und maximalen Details geeignet. Weniger anspruchsvolle Spiele können auch in 4k flüssig gespielt werden.
Der GA106 Chip bietet 3.840 FP32 ALUs wovon die Hälfte auch INT32 Befehle ausführen können (also 1.920 INT32 ALUs). Die RTX 3060 nutzt davon alle 3840 Kerne. Bei Turing konnten noch alle Shader FP32 oder INT32 ausführen. Die Raytracing und Tensor Kerne auf dem Chip wurden laut Nvidia ebenfalls verbessert. Weiters integriert der Ampere Chip einen Hardware Video-Encoder (NVENC 5. Generation für H.264 und H.265) und Decoder (7. Generation für zahlreiche Formate inklusive AV1).
Der GA106 Chip wird bei Samsung im 8nm (8N) Verfahren welches mit dem 7nm Verfahren von TSMC nicht ganz mithalten kann (z.B. von AMD genutzt, aber auch für den professionellen GA100 Ampere Chip).
