Der MediaTek MT8188J ist ein im ersten Quartal 2023 vorgestellter ARM-SoC (System-on-a-Chip) der Mittelklasse, der vorrangig in Android-basierten Tablets eingesetzt wird. Er wird in 12 Nanometern Strukturbreite gefertigt und verfügt über insgesamt acht CPU-Kerne (Octa-Core). Diese setzen sich aus 2 Cortex-A78-Kernen und 6 Cortex-A55-Kernen zusammen, die in einem big.LITTLE-Verbund zusammenarbeiten.
Die A78-Kerne des MediaTek MT8188J takten mit bis zu 2,2 GHz, die A55-Kerne bis zu 2 GHz. Als Grafikeinheit kommt die ARM Mali-G57 MP2 zum Einsatz. Weiterhin integriert ist ein Videodecoder mit H.264- und H.265-Unterstützung.
Neben CPU und Grafikchip integriert der Chip einen LPDDR4-Speichercontroller und kann bis zu 8 GB RAM ansteuern. Das SoC besitzt darüber hinaus auch ein Modem für WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 sowie LTE bis Cat.7.
Der Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 (SM6125) ist ein ARMv8-basierter SoC für Tablets und Smartphones aus dem gehobenen Mittelklasse-Segment. Die Prozessor-Einheit besitzt 8 Kerne, unterteilt in zwei Cluster: Die vier Hochleistungs-Kerne vom Typ Kryo 260 Gold (Cortex-A73-Variante) takten mit bis zu 2 GHz, die vier Kerne für weniger aufwändige Aufgaben sind vom Typ Kryo 260 Silver (Cortex-A53-Variante) und takten mit bis zu 1,8 GHz.
Als Grafikeinheit ist eine Adreno 610 integriert. Sie beherrscht mit OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.0 full, Vulkan 1.1, DX12 DSP alle momentan gängigen Grafik-APIs.
Verbaut ist auch ein Snapdragon X12 LTE-Modem, das im Downlink LTE Cat 12 mit bis zu 600 MBit/s unterstützt und im Uplink LTE Cat 13 mit bis zu 150 MBit/s.
Der Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 (SDM636) ist ein Mittelklasse SoC für (Android basierende) Smartphones und Tablets. Er integriert 8 Prozessorkerne der eigenen Kryo 260 Architektur (64-Bit fähig). Qualcomm spricht von einer 40% höheren Performance im Vergleich zum Snapdragon 630 (8x Cortex-A53).
Das integrierte X12 LTE Modem unterstützt 4G mit bis zu 600 Mbps Download und 150 Mbps Upload. Weiters ist eine Adreno 509 Grafikkarte integriert mit Support für Vulkan und OpenGL ES 3.1. WLAN wir 802.11ac unterstützt und Bluetooth in der Version 5.0. Der Speicherkontroller unterstützt LPDDR4 mit 1333 MHz (Dual-Channel LPDDR4-2666).
Dank des modernen 14nm FinFET Herstellungsverfahrens, ist der SoC relativ genügsam und wahrscheinlich auch für kleinere Smartphones geeignet.
