Die Intel HD Graphics 620 (GT2) ist eine Prozessorgrafikkarte der im Sommer 2016 vorgestellten Kaby-Lake-Generation. Als Nachfolger der Intel HD Graphics 520 (Skylake) ist die HD 620 dabei in den ULV-Modellen der 15-Watt-Klasse zu finden. Die sogenannte GT2-Ausbaustufe der Kaby-Lake-GPU verfügt über 24 Ausführungseinheiten (EUs) und taktet je nach Modell mit bis zu 1.050 MHz.

Mangels eigenem Grafikspeicher oder eDRAM-Cache greift die HD Graphics 620 über das Interface des Prozessors auf den System-RAM zu (2x 64 Bit DDR3/DDR4).

Performance

Die exakte Leistung der HD Graphics 620 hängt vom jeweiligen CPU-Modell ab, da sich Maximaltaktrate und Größe des L3-Caches leicht unterscheiden können. Zum anderen bestimmt auch der verwendete Speicher (DDR3/DDR4) die Performance. Insgesamt rechnet die HD 620 etwa 20 bis 30 Prozent schneller als ihr Vorgänger HD Graphics 520 und erreicht damit die Performance einer dedizierten Nvidia GeForce 920M. Die meisten Spiele des Jahres 2016 können so in niedrig(st)en Einstellungen flüssig dargestellt werden.

Features - H.265 in Hardware

Anders als Skylake kann Kaby Lake nun auch H.265/HEVC im Main10-Profil mit 10 Bit Farbtiefe sowie Googles VP9-Codec in Hardware decodieren. Die ersten ausgelieferten Kaby-Lake CPUs unterstützen allerdings noch kein HDCP 2.2, was beispielsweise für die Ausgabe von Netflix-Videos in 4K benötigt wird. Dies wurde erst ab 2017 mit den neuen CPUs und ab April mit den alten CPUs (neue Kennung) ermöglicht. HDMI 2.0 unterstützt die HD Graphics 620 jedoch weiterhin nur per Wandler (LSPCon) über den DisplayPort.

Leistungsaufnahme

Die HD Graphics 620 ist in ULV-Prozessoren der 15-Watt-Klasse zu finden und damit für schlanke Note- und Ultrabooks geeignet.

AMD Radeon R7 M370

Die AMD Radeon R7 M370 ist eine 2015 vorgestellte DirectX-12-Grafikkarte der Mittelklasse für Notebooks. Sie basiert auf der GCN-Architektur (28 Nanometer Mars-Chip) und ähnelt technisch der älteren, etwas niedriger getakteten Radeon R7 M260X.

Architektur

Der Grafikchip der R7 M370 verfügt über 384 Shadereinheiten und wird mit 875 MHz getaktet, woraus sich eine Rechenleistung von rund 672 GFLOPS ergibt. Als Speicher kommen typischerweise 2 GB GDDR5 (900 MHz, 3.600 MHz effektiv) zum Einsatz, die über ein 128-Bit-Interface an die GPU angebunden sind.

Performance

Die Leistung der Radeon R7 M370 profitiert von der vergleichsweise hohen Speicherbandbreite und liegt deshalb spürbar oberhalb der Radeon R7 M360 mit DDR3. Im Konkurrenzvergleich kann sich die Karte in etwa mit der GeForce 940M von Nvidia messen. Moderne Spiele des Jahres 2015 können damit in niedrigen bis mittleren Einstellungen flüssig dargestellt werden, etwas ältere oder weniger anspruchsvolle Titel auch mit höheren Settings.

Die 384 Shader können per OpenCL auch für generelle Berechnungen eingesetzt werden (als 6 Compute Units).

Features

Die R7-Serie unterstützt das automatische Umschalten zur Prozessorgrafik, welches mit dem Namen Enduro bezeichnet wird (früher auch Dynamic Switchable Graphics). Dank Eyefinity können mehrere Monitore an den Grafikchip angeschlossen werden.

Die GPU bietet neben Enduro auch einige zusätzliche Stromspartechniken. AMD hat zum Beispiel Power Gating im Chip implementiert, um Bereiche des Grafikchips abzuschalten die nicht benötigt werden. Weiters ermöglicht ZeroCore einen deutlich verringerten Stromverbrauch bei inaktivem Display (natürlich nur ohne Enduro schlagend). Zu guter Letzt gibt es noch die PowerTune Funktion, mit der AMD den Chip automatisch über- und untertakten kann um innerhalb der TDP Grenzen zu bleiben.

Die GPU besitzt auch weiterhin einen integrierten HD Audio Prozessor, der Discrete Digital Multipoint Audio (DDMA) unterstützt und so Audio an mehrere Ausgabegeräte gleichzeitig schicken kann.

Leistungsaufnahme

Der Stromverbrauch der R7 M370 liegt in einer Größenordnung von etwa 35 Watt und damit leicht über vergleichbaren Maxwell-GPUs von Nvidia. Dadurch eignet sich die Karte am besten für mittelgroße Notebooks ab etwa 13 bis 15 Zoll.

Die Intel HD Graphics P630 (GT2) ist eine integrierte Workstation-Grafikeinheit, die in verschiedenen Desktop- und Notebook-Prozessoren der 2017 vorgestellten Kaby-Lake-Generation zu finden ist (Xeon E3-1200 v6 und e3-1500M v6 Serien). Sie ist identisch mit der Intel HD Graphics 630, jedoch sind die Treiber für professionelle Software optimiert. Daher unterscheidet sie sich auch nicht von der Intel HD Graphics P530 und erreicht laut Intel auch die selbe Leistung im SPEC Viewperf12 (1.94x der alten Intel HD Graphics P4000). Die Grafikkarte ist derzeit für 15 CAD- und Workstation-Anwendungen zertifiziert.

Features

Neu bei der Kaby-Lake Generation ist die verbesserte Videoengine, welche nun auch H.265/HEVC im Main10-profil mit 10 Bit Farbtiefe sowie Googles VP9-Codec in Hardware dekodieren kann. Die Chips mit HD Graphics 530 sollten auch bereits HDCP 2.2 unterstützen und somit z.B. Netflix-Videos unter Windows 10 in 4K ausgeben können (im Gegensatz zu den ersten Kaby-Lake Dual-Core Chips mit Intel HD Graphics 620).

Leistungsaufnahme

Die HD Graphics P630 ist in Desktop- und Notebook-Prozessoren verschiedener TDP-Klassen zu finden. Die Quad-Core CPUs sind jedoch meistens in größeren und schwereren Notebooks verbaut. Der verbesserte 14nm+ Prozess verspricht jedoch eine etwas geringere Leistungsaufnahme im Vergleich zur Intel HD Graphics P530.
