NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU ► remove from comparison
Die Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU oder 3080 Mobile (für Laptops, GN20-E7, Max-P) ist Anfang 2021 die schnellste Grafikkarte für Notebooks. Sie basiert auf den GA104-775-A1 Ampere Chip und bietet 8 oder 16 GB GDDR6 Grafikspeicher mit einem 256 Bit Grafikbus (mit 12 oder 14 Gbps). Sie unterstützt PCIe 4.0 und ist in verschiedenen Varianten von 80 - 150+ Watt (TGP) verfügbar sein (80, 90, 115, 125, 135, 145 und 150+ Watt). Als Package nutzt die Notebook-Grafikkarte GB5-256 und die Chipgröße soll 40x40mm betragen. Die GPU unterstützt eDP 1.4b zum Anschluss des internen Monitors.
Es gibt nun keine Max-Q Variante mehr (die 80 - 90 Watt Versionen heissen auch nur "Laptop GPU"), aber jede TGP-Version kann die Max-Q Technologien nutzen (Dynamic Boost, Whispermode).
Die Leistung ist abhängig von der TGP-Variante und der verwendeten Kühlung. Bei gleichem TGP sollte sie aber deutlich oberhalb einer alten RTX 2080 Super Mobile liegen aber noch deutlich unterhalb der Desktop RTX 3080 . Dadurch reicht die Leistung bei den meisten anspruchsvollen Spielen auch für 4k mit maximalen Details. Bei 1080p sind auch Frameraten über 100 fps möglich.
Der GA104 Chip bietet 6144 FP32 ALUs wovon die Hälfte auch INT32 Befehle ausführen können (also 3072 INT32 ALUs). Bei Turing konnten noch alle Shader FP32 oder INT32 ausführen. Die Raytracing und Tensor Kerne auf dem Chip wurden laut Nvidia ebenfalls verbessert.
Der GA104 Chip wird bei Samsung im 8nm (8N) Verfahren welches mit dem 7nm Verfahren von TSMC nicht ganz mithalten kann (z.B. von AMD genutzt, aber auch für den professionellen GA100 Ampere Chip).
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Max-Q ► remove from comparison
Die Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 mit Max-Q Design ist eine mobile High-End-GPU der Pascal-Serie. Sie ist gedacht für dünne und leichte Notebook und je nach Kühlungsdesign etwa 10-15% langsamer als eine normale GTX 1060 für Laptops . Der Basistakt liegt mit 1063 - 1265 MHz deutlich unterhalb der normalen GTX 1060 (1506 MHz, mind. -16%) und auch der Boost erreicht mit 1341 - 1480 bei weitem nicht die 1708 MHz (mind. -13%) der regulären GTX 1060. Der Speichertakt ist jedoch gleich.
Im Vergleich zur normalen GTX 1060 gibt es noch weitere Unterschiede als den Takt. Der Treiber wurde auf Effizienz (und nicht Leistung) optimiert (nur für die Max-Q Modelle), optimierte Spannungswandler für 1V Betreib, high-end Kühlungsmethoden und eine 40 dB Grenze für die Lüfterlautstärke (mit Taktanpasssungen um dies jederzeit zu gewährleisten) zeichnen die Max-Q Variante aus.
Features
Der GP106-Chip wird in einem 16nm-FinFET-Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und bietet eine Reihe neuer Features, unter anderem Support für DisplayPort 1.4 (ready), HDMI 2.0b, HDR, Simultaneous Multi-Projection (SMP) sowie verbessertes H.265 Video De- und Encoding (PlayReady 3.0). Der Stromverbrauch der Max-Q Variante ist deutlich reduziert und beträgt je nach Laptopmodell zwischen 60 und 70 Watt (TGP).

Die Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 is zum Launch die schnellste GeForce Grafikkarte der Ampere-Generation und Quasi-Nachfolger der Titan RTX. Sie nutzt den großen GA102-Chip mit 10.496 Shader und 24 GB GDDR6X Grafikspeicher. Im Vergleich zur RTX 3080 ist die Mehrleistung erst ab Auflösungen höher 4K spürbar, für echtes 8K-Gaming mit hohen Details reicht die Rohleistung aber nicht aus. Mit einer Leistungsaufnahme von 350 Watt braucht die GPU zwar sehr viel Strom unter Last, die Energieeffizienz ist jedoch trotzdem sehr gut (Leistung pro Watt).
