Die Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU oder 3070 Mobile (für Laptops, GN20-E5, Max-P / Max-Q) ist Anfang 2021 die zweit-schnellste Grafikkarte für Notebooks. Sie basiert auf den GA104-770-A1 Ampere Chip und bietet 8 GB GDDR6 Grafikspeicher mit einem 256 Bit Grafikbus (mit 12 oder 14 Gbps). Sie unterstützt PCIe 4.0 und soll in zwei verschiedenen Varianten mit 80, 90, 115 bzw. 125 Watt (TGP) verfügbar sein. Als Package nutzt die Notebook-Grafikkarte GB5-256 und die Chipgröße soll 40x40mm betragen. Die GPU unterstützt eDP 1.4b zum Anschluss des internen Monitors.
Es gibt nun keine Max-Q Variante mehr (die 80 - 90 Watt Versionen heissen auch nur "Laptop GPU"), aber jede TGP-Version kann die Max-Q Technologien nutzen (Dynamic Boost, Whispermode).
Die Leistung ist abhängig von der TGP-Variante und der verwendeten Kühlung. Im Schnitt sollte sie etwa auf dem Level einer alten RTX 2080 Super Mobile liegen. Dadurch reicht die Leistung bei den meisten anspruchsvollen Spielen auch für 4k mit maximalen Details. Bei 1080p sind auch Frameraten über 100 fps möglich.
Der GA104 Chip bietet 6144 FP32 ALUs wovon die Hälfte auch INT32 Befehle ausführen können (also 3072 INT32 ALUs). Bei Turing konnten noch alle Shader FP32 oder INT32 ausführen. Die Raytracing und Tensor Kerne auf dem Chip wurden laut Nvidia ebenfalls verbessert. Die RTX 3070 nutzt 5120 der 6144 Kerne. Weiters integriert der Ampere Chip einen Hardware Video-Encoder (NVENC 5. Generation für H.264 und H.265) und Decoder (7. Generation für zahlreiche Formate inklusive AV1).
Der GA104 Chip wird bei Samsung im 8nm (8N) Verfahren welches mit dem 7nm Verfahren von TSMC nicht ganz mithalten kann (z.B. von AMD genutzt, aber auch für den professionellen GA100 Ampere Chip).
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M ► remove from comparison
Die NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M ist eine mobile, DirectX 11 fähige Grafikkarte der High-End-Klasse . Sie basiert auf den selben Chip wie die GeForce GTX 680MX aus dem Apple iMac Spitzenmodell, jedoch ist die Taktung höher (und kann durch GPU Boost 2.0 noch zusätzlich gesteigert werden) bei verringerter Leistungsaufnahme. Mitte 2013 ist die GTX 780M die schnellste Grafikkarte für Notebooks . Im Vergleich zur GTX 680M verwendet die GTX 780M zwar den selben GK104-Chip der Kepler-Architektur (28-nm-Prozess), bietet allerdings statt 1.344 alle 1.536 1D-Shader.
Die GeForce 700M Serie bietet als neues Feature den sogenannten GPU Boost 2.0 . Damit kann sich der Grafikkern automatisch übertakten wenn genügend Kühlleistung vorhanden ist. Laut Nvidia sollen dadurch bis zu 15% mehr Performance möglich sein, wenn Applikation und Notebook genügend Spielraum bieten.
Architektur Mit Kepler löst Nvidia die bisherige Fermi-Architektur ab, die unter anderem bei verschiedenen Chips und Modellen der GeForce-500M-Serie zum Einsatz kam. Der GK104 verfügt als Kepler-Chip über 8 Shader-Blöcke mit je 192 CUDA Cores, die vom Hersteller mit dem Kürzel SMX bezeichnet werden. Bei der 780M sind alle 8 aktiviert. Zwei SMX bilden zusammen mit zwei Polymorph Engines und einer gemeinsamen Raster Engine einen sogenannten GPC (Graphics Processing Cluster). Da die Shader keine eigene Takt-Domain mehr besitzen (Hot Clock), entspricht die Rechenleistung in etwa der Hälfte der Einheiten der Fermi-Architektur mit doppelter Taktrate. Diese Änderung ist einer der Gründe dafür, dass sich laut Nvidia die Energieeffizienz gegenüber dem Vorgänger verdoppelt hat. Auch die Tesselations-Leistung soll - speziell bei hohen Faktoren - noch einmal deutlich verbessert worden sein.
Als weitere Neuerungen werden zudem erstmals PCIe 3.0 sowie ein noch nicht näher bezeichneter, optionaler Turbo-Modus unterstützt. Dieser kann - ausreichende Kühlungsreserven vorausgesetzt - die Kerntaktrate um bis zu 15 Prozent anheben. Da der Turbo vom BIOS gesteuert wird, steht er, falls vom Notebook-Hersteller implementiert, unabhängig vom Betriebssystem zur Verfügung.
Leistung In unsere Spielebenchmarks konnte sich die neue GeForce GTX 780M um knapp 30 Prozent von der alten GTX 680M absetzen und somit einen deutlichen Geschwindigkeitsgewinn verbuchen. Die GTX 780M ist damit die schnellste mobile Grafikkarte und liegt etwa 10 bis 15 Prozent vor der AMD Radeon HD 8970M . Nahezu alle Spiele des Jahres 2013 sind damit in maximalen Einstellungen und hoher Auflösung flüssig spielbar (siehe Spielebenchmarks am Ende dieser Seite).
Features Das Featureset entspricht den Keplerkarten der GeForce GTX 600M Serie wie der GTX 680M. Bis zu 4 aktive Displays (mit Optimus u.U. weniger) können mit der GTX 780M betrieben werden, die mit einer maximalen Auflösung von 3840 x 2160 Pixeln zum Beispiel über DisplayPort 1.2 oder HDMI 1.4a angebunden werden können. HD-Audio-Formate wie Dolby True HD und DTS-HD lassen sich als Bitstream an einen geeigneten Receiver senden. Wie in der Vergangenheit kann jedoch auch weiterhin 3D Vision nicht mit Optimus-Unterstützung kombiniert werden.
Der PureVideo HD Videoprozessor der fünften Generation (VP5) kann die Formate MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264 und VC1/WMV9 bis zu einer Auflösung von 4k decodieren und somit den Prozessor entlasten. Auch zwei parallele Streams, beispielsweise für Picture-in-Picture bei einer Blu-Ray, sind möglich. Eine weitere Neuerung ist die Integration eines dedizierten Videoencoders ähnlich Intels Quick Sync, der über die NVENC-API angesprochen werden kann.
Die Leistungsaufnahme der GeForce GTX 780M sollte inkl. MXM Board und Speicher im Bereich der GTX 680M liegen (100 Watt TGP, 70-75W TDP) und dadurch unterhalb der GTX 680MX. Möglich ist dies durch den gereiften 28nm Prozess. Die hohe Abwärme erlaubt den Einsatz trotzdem nur in großen und schweren Notebooks. Bei geringer Last helfen zusätzliche Taktstufen dabei, Energie einzusparen, im Leerlauf kann die GPU mit Hilfe der Optimus-Technologie zugunsten eines IGP auch vollständig deaktiviert werden.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 ► remove from comparison
Die Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 ist eine Mid-Range Desktop Grafikkarte mit 8 GB Videospeicher. Im Januar wurde diese Grafikkarte präsentiert, wenngleich die Verfügbarkeit nur bedingt befriedigt werden konnte. Die GeForce RTX 3050 ist aktuell die kleinste Version der aktuellen RTX 3000 Serie, die mit der Ampere-Architektur Turing komplett abgelöst hat. Die GPU verfügt über 2.560 Shadereinheiten / Kerne und basiert auf dem GA106-Chip. Der VRAM ist mit 8-GB-GDDR6-Speicher ausreichend.
Features
Der GA106-Chip wird in 8 nm gefertigt und bietet weiterhin die bekannten Features, wie DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) und Real Time Ray Tracing. Allerdings hat Nvidia hier stark nachgebessert um die Leistung bei Nutzung dieser Features nochmals deutlich zu steigern. Zudem ist der Grafikchip baugleich mit dem der auf der Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 zum Einsatz kommt.
Performance
Die Performance der GeForce RTX 3050 liegt etwas unter dem Niveau einer Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060. Damit ordnet sich die RTX 3050 im guten Mittelfeld ein und kann die meisten Spiele der Jahre 2020 und 2021 in hohen Einstellungen und in 1.080p flüssig darstellen.
Leistungsaufnahme
Die Leistungsaufnahme der GeForce RTX 3050 wird vom Hersteller mit 130 Watt beziffert und ist damit etwas sparsamer als eine Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 (160 Watt).
