Die Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 A Laptop GPU (oder Mobile) ist eine neue Variante basierend auf die aktuelle Ada Lovelace Architektur (im Vergleich zu Ampere bei den anderen RTX 3050 Laptop GPUs). Sie nutzt den AD106 Chip der RTX 4060 oder AD107 der RTX 4050, jedoch mit deutlich verringerter Kernanzahl und Speicherbus. Die RTX 3050 A bietet nur 1.792 GPU Kerne (CUDA Cores) und ein 4GB GDDR6 Grafikspeicher der nur mit 64-Bit angebunden ist. Nach aktuellen Informationen ist die 3050 A zum Launch nur für den Indischen Markt gedacht.

Durch die geringe Kernanzahl und den kleinen Speicherbus, sollte die Performance nicht deutlich überhalb der alten RTX 3050 4GB Laptop GPU liegen.

Der AD106 Chip wird bei TSMC im 5nm (4N) Verfahren gefertigt und ist dadurch deutlich effizienter als der alte Ampere Chip der RTX 3050 4GB. Der TGP kann vom Notebookhersteller zwischen 35 und 50 Watt gewählt werden (System Power).

NVIDIA RTX A500 Laptop GPU

Die Nvidia RTX A500 Laptop GPU oder A500 Mobile (für Laptops) ist eine professionelle Grafikkarte für mobile Workstations. Sie basiert wie die RTX A1000 auf die Consumer RTX 3050, jedoch wurde der Speicherbus auf 64-Bit limitiert. Im Vergleich zu einer günstigeren GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU mit Studio Treibern, bietet die RTX A500 zertifizierte Treiber für zahlreiche professionelle Applikationen.

Wie auch die GeForce RTX 3050 Mobile, ist auch die RTX A2000 in verschiedenen TGP-Versionen erhältlich. Diese rangieren bei der A2000 von 20 - 60 Watt. Je nach verbauter Variante unterscheiden sich die Taktraten von Chip und Speicher und damit auch deutlich die Performance.

Es gibt nun keine Max-Q Variante mehr (die 35+ Versionen heissen auch nur "Laptop GPU"), aber jede TGP-Version kann die Max-Q Technologien nutzen (Dynamic Boost, WhisperMode).

Die professionellen Grafikkarten von Nvidia bieten zertifizierte Treiber, welche auf Stabiltität und Performance bei professionellen Anwendungen (CAD-, DCC-, Medizin-, Prospektions-, Visualisierungsanwendungen) optimiert sind.

Die Leistung ist abhängig von der TGP-Variante und der verwendeten Kühlung. Bei gleichem TGP sollte sie durch den kleineren Speicherbus und geringere Taktraten etwas unterhalb der RTX A1000 liegen.

Der GA107 Chip bietet 2.560 FP32 ALUs wovon die Hälfte auch INT32 Befehle ausführen können (also 1.280 INT32 ALUs). Bei Turing konnten noch alle Shader FP32 oder INT32 ausführen. Die Raytracing und Tensor Kerne auf dem Chip wurden laut Nvidia ebenfalls verbessert. Weiters integriert der Ampere Chip einen Hardware Video-Encoder (NVENC 5. Generation für H.264 und H.265) und Decoder (7. Generation für zahlreiche Formate inklusive AV1).

Der GA107 Chip wird bei Samsung im 8nm (8N) Verfahren welches mit dem 7nm Verfahren von TSMC nicht ganz mithalten kann (z.B. von AMD genutzt, aber auch für den professionellen GA100 Ampere Chip).

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050

Die Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 ist eine Mid-Range Desktop Grafikkarte mit 8 GB Videospeicher. Im Januar wurde diese Grafikkarte präsentiert, wenngleich die Verfügbarkeit nur bedingt befriedigt werden konnte. Die GeForce RTX 3050 ist aktuell die kleinste Version der aktuellen RTX 3000 Serie, die mit der Ampere-Architektur Turing komplett abgelöst hat. Die GPU verfügt über 2.560 Shadereinheiten / Kerne und basiert auf dem GA106-Chip. Der VRAM ist mit 8-GB-GDDR6-Speicher ausreichend.

Features

Der GA106-Chip wird in 8 nm gefertigt und bietet weiterhin die bekannten Features, wie DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) und Real Time Ray Tracing. Allerdings hat Nvidia hier stark nachgebessert um die Leistung bei Nutzung dieser Features nochmals deutlich zu steigern. Zudem ist der Grafikchip baugleich mit dem der auf der Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 zum Einsatz kommt.

Performance

Die Performance der GeForce RTX 3050 liegt etwas unter dem Niveau einer Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060. Damit ordnet sich die RTX 3050 im guten Mittelfeld ein und kann die meisten Spiele der Jahre 2020 und 2021 in hohen Einstellungen und in 1.080p flüssig darstellen. 

Leistungsaufnahme

Die Leistungsaufnahme der GeForce RTX 3050 wird vom Hersteller mit 130 Watt beziffert und ist damit etwas sparsamer als eine Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 (160 Watt).
