Die Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q (für Laptops) ist die Stromsparversion der mobilen GeForce RTX 2080 Super . Sie basiert auf den selben TU104-775-A1 Chip mit 3.072 Shader, jedoch bei deutlich reduzierten Taktraten und Stromverbrauch. Es gibt drei Varianten mit einem TGP (Stromverbrauch des Chips) von 80, 85 und 90 Watt. Die Taktung rangiert von 735 - 975 MHz für den Basistakt und 1.080 - 1.230 MHz im Boost. Die normale 2080 Super Mobile taktet mit 1.365 - 1.560 / 1.560 - 1.740 MHz bis zu 48% höher im Boost, die gleichnamige Desktop-Version ist nochmals schneller getaktet. Die GPU trägt den Codenamen N18E-G3R-A1 (für Refresh).
Mit dem Refresh wurden die Max-Q Technologien überarbeitet und bieten nun neben einer verbesserten Effizienz durch (neue Spannungswandler, Low-Power-GDDR6) auch zwei optionale Features. Der Notebookhersteller kann Dynamic Boost implementieren um Strom von der CPU zur GPU zu verlagern (TDP in 5 Watt Schritten). Weiters gibt es einen neuen "Dynamic Display Switch" für Advanced Optimus der G-SYNC und bis zu 4K 120 Hz ermöglichen.

Performance
Die Performance der mobilen GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q ist stark abhängig vom verbauten Notebook und kann sich in unseren ersten Tests nur minimal von der alten RTX 2080 Max-Q absetzen. Damit erreicht sie meist nur die Performance einer normalen RTX 2070 für Notebooks . Damit eignet sich die Grafikkarte am besten für 1440p bei maximalen Details in anspruchsvollen Spielen wie Red Dead Redemption 2, Control oder Borderlands 3. Durch den verringerten Stromverbrauch von 80 - 90 Watt TGP eignet sich die RTX 2080 Super Max-Q auch für dünnere Gaming-Notebooks.

Die Nvidia Quadro RTX 3000 with Max-Q Design ist eine professionelle Grafikkarte für große Notebooks / mobile Workstations. Die Max-Q Variante ist eine auf Effizienz optimierte Version der RTX 3000 mit verringerten Taktraten. Sie basiert auf den selben Chip wie die Consumer GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q jedoch mit zertifizierten Treibern für professionelle Anwendungen, weniger Shader und geringeren Taktraten und langsameren, aber größerem Grafikspeicher. Nach aktuellen Informationen gibt es drei verschiedene Max-Q Varianten mit einem Stromverbrauch der Karte (TGP) von 70, 65 und 60 Watt im Vergleich zu den 80 Watt der normalen mobilen RTX 3000.

Performance
Je nach Variante, kann die Max-Q Version deutlich Performance zur normalen RTX 4000 einbüßen. Zwar ist der maximale Boost-Takt bei der schnellsten Variante vergleichbar, der garantierte Basistakt liegt jedoch deutlich darunter. Dadurch ist die Performance stark von der Kühlung abhängig.
Im Vergleich zu Consumer-Karten, wie der höher gektateten RTX 2070 Max-Q verhelfen die Quadro Treiber der RTX 3000 Max-q jedoch zu einer höheren Performance.
Mit einem TDP von 60-70 Watt benötigt die Quadro RTX 3000 Max-Q zwar deutlich weniger als die stärkeren RTX 4000 und 5000 GPUs, jedoch eignet sie sich trotzdem nur für große Workstation Laptops.

Die Nvidia Quadro RTX 4000 für Laptops ist eine professionelle Grafikkarte für große und schwere Notebooks. Sie positioniert sich mit ihren 2560 Shadern zwischen der Consumer RTX 2070 (2304) und RTX 2080 (2944) und dürfte daher den TU104 Chip nutzen.
Die Quadro-Grafikkarten bieten zertifizierte Treiber , welche auf Stabiltität und Performance bei professionellen Anwendungen (CAD-, DCC-, Medizin-, Prospektions-, Visualisierungsanwendungen) optimiert sind. Die Performance sollte sich zwischen der RTX 5000 / GTX 2080 und RTX 3000 / GTX 2070 einpendeln. Bei professionellen Anwendungen können die Quadro-Treiber zu einer höheren Performance führen und Nvidia bewirbt die Quadro-Linie auch mit den höheren VRAM Ausstattungen, die sich bei manchen Workflows deutlich auswirken können.
Mit einem TDP von 110 Watt eignet sich die Quadro RTX 4000 nur für große und schwere Notebooks.
