NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Max-Q ► remove from comparison
Die Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti mit Max-Q Design ist eine Mittelklasse-GPU basierend auf der Pascal-Architektur und wurde im Januar 2018 vorgestellt. Anders als die schnelleren Modelle basiert die GTX 1050 Ti auf dem GP107-Chip, der im 14-nm-Verfahren bei Samsung hergestellt wird.
Im Vergleich zur normalen GTX 1050 Ti gibt es noch weitere Unterschiede als den Takt. Der Treiber wurde auf Effizienz (und nicht Leistung) optimiert (nur für die Max-Q Modelle), optimierte Spannungswandler für 1V Betreib, high-end Kühlungsmethoden und eine 40 dB Grenze für die Lüfterlautstärke (mit Taktanpasssungen um dies jederzeit zu gewährleisten) zeichnen die Max-Q Variante aus.
Features
Der GP107-Chip wird in einem 14-nm-FinFET-Prozess bei Samsung gefertigt und bietet eine Reihe neuer Features, unter anderem Support für DisplayPort 1.4 (ready), HDMI 2.0b, HDR, Simultaneous Multi-Projection (SMP) sowie verbessertes H.265 Video De- und Encoding (PlayReady 3.0). Performance
Die exakte Performance der GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Max-Q kann sich in Abhängigkeit von der Kühlung des jeweiligen Notebooks stark unterscheiden. Im Optimalfall ist die Leistung etwa 10 bis 15 % unterhalb der normalen GTX 1050 Ti angesiedelt. Dadurch eignet sich die Grafikkarte am besten für Full HD (1920 x 1080) bei hoher aber nicht maximaler Detailstufe.
Leistungsaufnahme
Die Leistungsaufnahme der GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Max-Q ist von Nvidia mit 40 - 46 Watt spezifiziert und damit deutlich unterhalb der normalen Notebook GTX 1050 Ti (64 Watt). Selbst die normale GTX 1050 ist mit 53 Watt höher spezifziert. Damit eignet sich die Grafikkarte auch für dünne und leichte 14-Zoll Notebooks.
NVIDIA Quadro K4100M ► remove from comparison
Die NVIDIA Quadro K4100M ist eine DirectX-11- und OpenGL-4.3-fähige High-End-Workstation-Grafikkarte für Notebooks. Sie basiert wie die Consumer GeForce GTX 780M auf dem 28-nm-Chip GK104 (Kepler-Serie), besitzt allerdings nur 1152 aktive Shadereinheiten. Die Grafikkarte ist für die Shark-Bay-Generation gedacht (Haswell) und die Nachfolgerin der Quadro K4000M (Chief-River-Plattform) . Es werden bis zu 4 GB GDDR5 als Grafikspeicher eingesetzt, die mit 800 MHz (I/O-Takt 1.600 MHz, effektiv 3.200 MHz) getaktet werden und über einen 256 Bit Speicherbus angebunden sind (102,4 GB/s). Eine wichtige Neuerung ist die erstmalige Unterstützung von PCIe 3.0.
Die Quadro-Grafikkarten bieten zertifizierte Treiber , welche auf Stabiltität und Performance bei professionellen Anwendungen (CAD-, DCC-, Medizin-, Prospektions-, Visualisierungsanwendungen) optimiert sind. Dadurch ist die Performance im Vergleich zu den Consumergrafikkarten mit gleichem Chip in diesen Bereichen deutlich besser.
Architektur
Mit Kepler löst Nvidia die ältere Fermi-Architektur ab, die unter anderem bei verschiedenen Chips und Modellen der GeForce-500M-Serie zum Einsatz kam. Der GK104 verfügt als Kepler-Chip über 8 Shader-Blöcke mit je 192 CUDA Cores, die vom Hersteller mit dem Kürzel SMX bezeichnet werden. Bei der K4100M sind davon lediglich 6 aktiviert. Zwei SMX bilden zusammen mit zwei Polymorph Engines und einer gemeinsamen Raster Engine einen sogenannten GPC (Graphics Processing Cluster). Da die Shader keine eigene Takt-Domain mehr besitzen (Hot Clock), entspricht die Rechenleistung in etwa der Hälfte der Einheiten der Fermi-Architektur mit doppelter Taktrate. Diese Änderung ist einer der Gründe dafür, dass sich laut Nvidia die Energieeffizienz gegenüber Fermi verdoppelt hat. Auch die Tesselations-Leistung soll, speziell bei hohen Faktoren, noch einmal deutlich verbessert worden sein.
Leistung
Die 3D-Performance in Spielen siedelt sich in etwa auf dem Level der alten Quadro K5000M an. Damit ist die K4100M knapp schneller als das Consumer-Modell GeForce GTX 770M . Für aktuelle 3D-Spiele (Stand Mitte 2013) besitzt die Karte damit mehr als ausreichende Reserven und bewältigt auch hohe Auflösungen und Detaileinstellungen problemlos.
Features
Das Featureset umfasst wie bei der schnelleren K5100M die Unterstützung von bis zu 4 aktiven Displays (mit Optimus u.U. weniger), die mit einer maximalen Auflösung von 3840 x 2160 Pixeln zum Beispiel über DisplayPort 1.2 oder HDMI 1.4a angebunden werden können. HD-Audio-Formate wie Dolby True HD und DTS-HD lassen sich als Bitstream an einen geeigneten Receiver senden. Wie in der Vergangenheit kann jedoch auch weiterhin 3D Vision nicht mit Optimus-Unterstützung kombiniert werden.
Die Rechenkerne der Grafikkarte können per CUDA und OpenCL 1.2 auch für generelle Berechnungen herangezogen werden.
Der PureVideo HD Videoprozessor der fünften Generation (VP5) wurde vom GF119-Chip übernommen. Dieser kann die Formate MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264 und VC1/WMV9 bis zu einer Auflösung von 4k decodieren und somit den Prozessor entlasten. Auch zwei parallele Streams, beispielsweise für Picture-in-Picture bei einer Blu-Ray, sind möglich. Eine weitere Neuerung ist die Integration eines dedizierten Videoencoders ähnlich Intels Quick Sync, der über die NVENC-API angesprochen werden kann.
Leistungsaufnahme
Die Leistungsaufnahme der Quadro K4100M entspricht laut Nvidia der alten Quadro K4000M und liegt bei 100 Watt TGP (Max Power Consumption). Dadurch ist die Karte am besten für große 17-Zoll-Notebooks geeignet.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 SLI (Laptop) ► remove from comparison
Die Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 SLI (Laptop) bezeichnet einen SLI-Verbund aus zwei High-End GeForce GTX 1080 Grafikkarten. Die GPUs nutzen denselben GP104-Chip mit 2.560 CUDA-Kernen wie das Desktop-Modell. Beide Karten rendern jeweils abwechselnd ein Bild (AFR), wodurch sich die Leistung gegenüber einer einzelnen GPU im Optimalfall fast verdoppelt. Der je 8 GB große Grafikspeicher verdoppelt sich durch den Einsatz beider Karten nicht, da jeweils die selben Daten gespeichert werden.
Der GP104-Chip wird in einem 16nm-FinFET-Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und bietet eine Reihe neuer Features, unter anderem Support für DisplayPort 1.4 (ready), HDMI 2.0b, HDR, Simultaneous Multi-Projection (SMP) sowie verbessertes H.265 Video De- und Encoding (PlayReady 3.0). Die Performance der GTX 1080 SLI ist stark abhängig vom Treibersupport und den Spielen. Im Optimalfall wird die Performance einer einzelnen GTX 1080, wie schon bei den Vorgängern, fast verdoppelt, in anderen Fällen kann der Verbund auch deutlich schlechter oder gar nicht skalieren. Des Weiteren können mehr oder weniger ausgeprägte Mikroruckler die gefühlte Performance beeinträchtigen. Dennoch lassen sich die meisten Spiele des Jahres 2016 in maximalen Einstellungen und 4K-Auflösung flüssig darstellen, was die GTX 1080 SLI zum Zeitpunkt der Vorstellung zur schnellsten Notebook-Grafiklösung auf dem Markt macht.
Im SLI-Verbund verdoppelt sich der Stromverbrauch gegenüber einer einzelnen GTX 1080, sodass beide Karten zusammen wie das Vorgängermodell GTX 980 SLI (Notebook) bis zu 360 Watt aufnehmen können. Aus diesem Grund ist die Grafiklösung nur in sehr großen und schweren Gaming-Notebooks zu finden.
