Der Apple M3 Pro 11 Core ist ein System on a Chip (SoC) von Apple für Notebooks der gegen Ende 2023 vorgestellt wurde. Er integriert eine 11 der 12-CPU-Kerne mit 5 von 6 Performance Kernen mit bis zu 4,06 GHz und 6 Effizienzkernen mit 2,8 GHz.
Im Vergleich zum M2 Pro wurde der M3 Pro etwas abgespeckt und tauscht zwei Performance-Kerne gegen Effizienz-Kerne. Das liegt an der veränderten Kernkonfiguration, da nun pro Cluster 6 Kerne zum Einsatz kommen (beim M2 Pro und M3 weiterhin 4 Kerne pro Cluster). Weiters wurde der Speicherbus von 256 Bit auf 192 Bit verringert (150 GB/s vs 200 GB/s). Dank der neuen Architektur und höheren Taktraten, ist der neue M3 Pro edoch trotzdem noch etwas schneller.
Der M3 Pro integriert weiters eine neue Grafikkarte mit Dynamic Caching, Mesh Shading und Ray-Tracing-Beschleunigung per Hardware. Im Einstiegsmodell werden nur 14 der 18 Kerne des Chips genutzt und unterstützen bis zu 3 Displays gleichzeitig (internes und 2 externe).
GPU und CPU können gemeinsam auf den gemeinsamen Speicher auf dem Package zugreifen (Unified Memory). Dieser ist in 18 oder 36 GB-Varianten erhältlich und bietet 150 GB/s maximale Bandbreite (192 Bit Bus).
Die integrierte 16-Kern Neural Engine wurde ebenfalls überarbeitet und bietet nun 18 TOPS Spitzenleistung (versus 15,8 TOPS beim M2 aber 35 TOPS im neuen A17 Pro). Die Video-Engine unterstützt nun auch AV1 Dekodierung in Hardware. H.264, HEVC und ProRes (RAW) können weiterhin de- und enkodiert werden.
Das integrierte WLAN unterstützt leider nur weiterhin WiFi 6E (kein WiFi 7), im Unterschied zum kleinen M3 SoC wird aber Thunderbolt 4 auch unterstützt (max 40 Gbit/s).
Der Chip wird im aktuellen 3nm Prozess (N3B) bei TSMC hergestellt und beinhaltet 37 Milliarden Transistoren (-7,5% vs. Apple M2 Pro).
Intel Core i5-1135G7 ► remove from comparison
Der Intel Core i5-1135G7 ist ein sparsamer Quad-Core-SoC für Notebooks und Ultrabooks, der auf der Tiger-Lake-Architektur basiert und im September 2020 vorgestellt wurde. Tiger Lake wird im verbesserten 10nm+-Verfahren (SuperFin genannt) bei Intel gefertigt und nutzt die neuen Willow Cove CPU-Kerne mit einer neuen Mikroarchitektur. Der Intel Core i5-1135G7 bietet vier Kerne mit 2,4 GHz Basistakt und 4,2 GHz Turbo-Takt. Im Vergleich bieten die schnelleren Core i7 Modelle einen deutlich höheren Takt (z.B. Core i7-1186G7 3 - 4,3 GHz).
Eine weitere Neuerung ist die integrierte Intel Iris Xe G7 Grafikkarte (Gen 12) welche eine deutlich höhere Leistung wie die alte Iris Plus G7 in Ice Lake bieten soll. Im 1135G7 bietet die Iris Xe jedoch nur 80 der 96 EUs bei einem Takt von 400 - 1300 MHz.
Wie bisher wird auch weiterhin WLAN (Wifi 6) und nun auch Thunderbolt 4 / USB 4 und 4 Lanes PCIe 4 im Chip (teil-)integriert für schnellere, günstige und platzsparende Implementierungen in Notebooks.
Der TDP kann bei den UP3 CPUs von 12 - 28 Watt gewählt werden und dadurch eignet sich die CPU auch für dünne und leichte Notebooks.
Intel Core i5-1155G7 ► remove from comparison
Der Intel Core i5-1155G7 ist ein sparsamer Quad-Core-SoC für Notebooks und Ultrabooks, der auf der Tiger-Lake-Architektur basiert und Mitte 2021 vorgestellt wurde (als Teil des Refresh). Tiger Lake wird im verbesserten 10nm+-Verfahren bei Intel gefertigt und nutzt die neuen Willow Cove CPU-Kerne mit einer neuen Architektur. Die Basis-Taktraten sind je nach TDP Einstellung unterschiedlich. Bei 12 Watt 1 GHz und bei maximalen 28 Watt taktet er mit garantierten 2,5 GHz. Der Boost Takt ist bei allen mit maximal 4,5 GHz spezifiziert.
Eine weitere Neuerung ist die integrierte Intel Xe G7 Grafikkarte (Gen 12) mit 80 EUs und bis zu 1,35 GHz welche eine deutlich höhere Leistung wie die alte Iris Plus G7 in Ice Lake bietet.
Wie bisher wird auch weiterhin WLAN (Wifi 6) und Thunderbolt 4 / USB 4 im Chip teilintegriert für schnellere, günstige und platzsparende Implementierungen in Notebooks.
